A

Adobe Substance 3D

Adobe Substance 3D is a set of applications with tools for multiple 3D purposes like VR, 3D modeling like other known softwares, painting, etc.

B

Blender

Blender is the free and open source 3D creation suite. It supports the entirety of the 3D pipeline—modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, even video editing and game creation.

C

Cinema 4D

CINEMA 4D is a commercial cross-platform computer program for 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, animation and 3D rendering. It is capable of both procedural and polygon modeling. Its a very popular 3D film retouching application, due to its 3D tool, BodyPaint, and equally popular in movie creation.

F

Fusion 360

Fusion 360 has built-in capabilities to do 3D modeling, sheet-metal, simulation and documentation. It can manage manufacturing processes such as machining, milling, turning and additive manufacturing. It also has electronic design automation (EDA) features, such as schematic design, PCB design and component management. You can use it also for rendering, animation, generative design and a number of advanced simulation tasks (FEA).

H

Houdini

"SideFX's Houdini is responsible for creating a range of 3D imagery across the CG industry. Its node-based procedural approach offers artists unprecedented power, flexibility and control. This nodal workflow isn’t for everyone, but Houdini also has some more traditional tools which allow you to directly interact with the polygons on screen."

M

Maya

"Autodesk Maya will bag the top spot in most artists' ranking of the best 3D modelling software. The industry standard for an array of CG disciplines, Maya offers artists an unrivalled set of features and tools. This powerful app isn't for beginners, however, its toolset is complex and takes time to master."

"Maya is ideal for modelling, texturing, lighting and rendering – its vast features include tools for particles, hair, solid body physics, cloth, fluid simulations and character animation."

U

Unreal Engine

Unreal Engine, as the name says, is a game engine, first used in 1998 in the first-person shooter. The software it has been mainly used for the creation of many videogames, mainly fps like Fortnite.

Z

ZBrush

ZBrush is a commercial computer program for three-dimensional digital modeling and high-resolution texturing, that uses pixel technology that combines 2.5D and 3D, used in film production and game character creation in 3D.
