Provides a specialized syntax for querying Analysis Services. DAX includes some of the functions that are used in Excel formulas as well as additional functions that are designed to work with relational data and perform dynamic aggregation. DAX can compute values for seven different data types: Integer, Real, Currency, Date, Boolean, String and BLOB (binary large object).
